2025 Mahindra Thar Facelift: Modern Updates Retain Iconic SUV's Off-Road Prowess
The 2025 Mahindra Thar has received a facelift, with revised interiors, new safety features, and a fresh color palette. The iconic SUV retains its classic silhouette while gaining modern updates.
The 2025 Thar's cabin sees significant changes. The steering wheel and centre console have been revised, with rear AC vents now placed in the color picker and window switches shifted to the doors. The SUV also gains a rear wiper with washer and a rearview camera, previously exclusive to the Thar Roxx variant. Despite these updates, the Thar retains its classic silhouette with small cosmetic tweaks.
Under the hood, the 2025 Thar offers a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 150 hp and 320 Nm of torque, and a 2.2-litre diesel motor with 130 hp and 300 Nm of torque. The SUV maintains its trail-ready DNA with a ground clearance of 226 mm and unchanged approach, departure, and breakover angles. Safety features have been enhanced with multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, and a reinforced body structure for improved crash protection. The air conditioning system has also been upgraded for better cooling efficiency.
The exterior receives a dual-tone bumper and body-coloured grille at the front. Two new paint shades, Battleship Grey and Tango Red, join the color wheel. Inside, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Adventure Statistic 2 is featured. The 4x4 system remains, with a low-range transfer case and shift-on-the-fly ability.
The 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift combines classic styling with modern updates, offering enhanced safety, improved performance, and fresh color options. It retains its off-road capabilities and iconic design, ensuring it remains a popular choice among adventure enthusiasts.
