Acteon's UTEC Wins Major Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm Contract

Acteon's UTEC has secured a significant contract for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm. Paul Smith, Executive Vice President of UTEC, expressed pride in leading the data-driven aspect of the project management. UTEC will design, engineer, procure, install, and commission measurement and data acquisition systems for the 1.5 GW wind farm.

The contract, awarded to UTEC's geo-services business line, covers crucial data measurements for the structural integrity of the wind turbines. These measurements will be integrated in real-time through Acteon's NX2 digital platform. The manufacture of the monopile foundations for Baltica 2 involves Steelwind Nordenham GmbH, which produces the monopiles, and EEW, specializing in steel pipe production for monopiles. Acteon will execute the project-based systems integration and software development at its Technology Centre in Wokingham, UK, with installation in construction yards across Europe.

UTEC's involvement in the Baltica 2 project demonstrates Acteon's commitment to driving innovation in offshore wind farm structural monitoring. The contract, covering data measurements and monopile foundation manufacturing, underscores the collaborative nature of the project, involving multiple industry players.
