Aerfal Resurrects Porsche 904 with Modern 400HP Flat-Eight
Aerfal Automotive is reviving the classic Porsche 904 with a modernised restomod. The project, involving Multimatic and Tuthill, promises a powerful 4.0-litre air-cooled flat-eight engine and a reinforced chassis for enhanced performance.
The car will retain its mid-engined layout and iconic curves, with subtle updates to bring it into the 21st century. Multimatic will fortify the chassis, while Tuthill handles suspension duties. The interior will be a delightful throwback, featuring retro dials, minimalist dash, leather trim, and titanium accents. Access to the cabin will be eased by doors that rise with a section of the roof. Under the bonnet, a 4.0-litre flat-eight engine will produce 294kW (400hp). Brembo brakes, Michelin tyres, and BBS wheels will ensure improved driving dynamics. Despite rumours of Cosworth involvement, the engine's details remain unconfirmed. Notably, the car will be based on a Porsche 914 platform due to the rarity of genuine 904 chassis.
Prototype construction and pre-orders are underway, but Aerfal Automotive has yet to disclose pricing, production volume, or delivery dates. The revived Porsche 904 promises to blend classic charm with modern performance, attracting enthusiasts eager for a taste of nostalgia with a twist.
