Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies (BISS) has launched a platform to attract innovative and analytical youth, focusing on essential issues in the country, such as food security and medical staff shortages.

In various spheres of life, Belarusian youth have come up with their own projects to tackle these critical problems.

A notable example is Artem Savitski, a junior research fellow at BSMU's Biological Faculty, who has developed an innovative platform for early crop disease diagnosis. The technology aims to minimize crop loss by identifying diseases promptly, covering major crops essential for food security in the country.

The platform works by allowing users to send photos of their crops through a Telegram channel, which gets analyzed by the AI to identify the disease and suggest treatment recommendations. The AI coding is based on specific diseases common in the region, addressing issues not addressed by global AI solutions trained on different climates.

The young analyst plans to expand this platform into a paid subscription app, making it accessible not only to large-scale farms but also to individual farmers and gardeners.

Another project tackled the issue of attracting young people to the medical profession. Vasily Kulagin, a second-year student at VGU, formulated a four-step strategy to strengthen the physician image and promote this field to potential students.

He involved faculty staff from his alma mater and representatives from healthcare institutions to develop the strategy. The plan includes practical training in healthcare institutions and an extensive promotional campaign for aspiring students, aiming to spark motivation among future doctors.

Vasilij believes that the process of inspiring young people to pursue a medical career should begin in school, with a centralized system of professional guidance and a commission of specialists to help students make informed career choices.

Although Belarus lacks formal education in analyzing, the BISS initiative aims to find and nurture talented young individuals. The competition invites leaders from various sectors, including ministries, industrial parks, and the Development Bank, looking for potential clients and partners.

The competition covers a broad range of topics, from IT to medicine, with a growing focus on healthcare issues in recent years. Belarusian specialists are progressing in the realm of digitalization and automation, which could aid in the future deployment of AI-driven agricultural solutions. However, large-scale implementation in agriculture has yet to be widely reported compared to global leaders.
