Airbus H145 helicopters have been ordered for offshore wind operations by HTM, as per the announcement.

Airbus H145 Proven Success in Offshore Wind Operations

The Airbus H145 helicopter, equipped with Safran Arriel 2E engines and the Helionix digital avionics suite, is making waves in the offshore wind industry. Five of these helicopters, with options for two more, will be used by HTM Helicopters to transport technicians and materials to wind farm turbines off the coasts of Germany and France.

The H145's high-performance 4-axis autopilot and full authority digital engine control (FADEC) system increase safety and reduce pilot workload, making it an ideal choice for offshore missions. The helicopter's capacity for transporting passengers and cargo, combined with its outstanding hover performance for hoisting operations, further solidifies its suitability for this role.

The latest version of the H145 features an innovative five-bladed rotor, increasing its useful load by 150 kg. This design, first used by HTM Helicopters in 2021 for offshore wind operations, contributes to a smoother ride, especially over challenging sea conditions.

The H145's quiet operation, with a particularly low acoustic footprint, is another advantage in the offshore environment. Its CO2 emissions are also the lowest among its competitors, making it environmentally friendly.

HTM Helicopters, the first operator to use a five-bladed H145 for offshore wind operations, has praised the helicopter for its excellent operational, environmental, and maintenance performance. Bernd Brucherseifer, Managing Director for HTM Helicopters, stated that the H145 offers excellent OEI performance, quick role changes, reliability, and ease of maintenance.

Airbus is pleased to continue its partnership with HTM Helicopters, with the delivery of the newly ordered helicopter set to grow HTM's total H145 fleet to eight helicopters (10 including options). This expansion underscores the confidence that HTM has in Airbus's helicopters as they expand their fleet.

Worldwide, there are more than 1,675 H145 family helicopters in service, with a total of more than 7.6 million flight hours. The H145's success in the offshore wind industry is a testament to its versatility and reliability.

In late 2023, an HTM aircraft was used in a world-premiere trial led by Airbus to hoist crew members into the nacelles of floating wind turbines in Hywind Tampen. This trial further highlights the H145's potential in the offshore wind sector.

The Airbus H145, with its enhanced payload capacity, advanced avionics, and operational flexibility, is a highly effective helicopter for offshore wind operations. Its proven track record, coupled with its innovative design features, positions it as an ideal helicopter to support the demanding logistics of offshore wind farms.

  1. The success of the Airbus H145 helicopter in offshore wind operations showcases its effectiveness in the renewable-energy business, particularly within the industry.
  2. The partnership between Airbus and HTM Helicopters, which involves the use of H145 helicopters, is significantly enhancing the finance sector, as more investments flow into the offshore wind industry.
  3. The latest news in the general-news industry revolves around the promising future of the offshore wind sector, with the Airbus H145 helicopter, due to its technology and efficiency, emerging as a key player in this advancement.
