All interconnecting cable systems have been installed at the 960 MW power plant site in Germany, as per our website.

In a significant stride towards the development of Germany's largest offshore wind farm without public subsidies, the inter-array cable installation at He Dreiht, located approximately 80 kilometers northwest of the island of Borkum in the North Sea, has been completed. The project, owned by EnBW (50.1%) and a consortium (49.9%), is set to become operational by 2025 and will power approximately 1.1 million homes.

The inter-array cable installation was awarded to Seaway7 and JDR Cable Systems in 2022, marking the beginning of their involvement in the project. The companies, known for their expertise in offshore construction and cable systems, have been instrumental in the installation process, though specific details about their roles are not disclosed.

The He Dreiht wind farm, currently in the wind turbine installation phase, will boast a total capacity of 960 MW, achieved through 64 turbines, each capable of generating 15 MW. The first of these turbines, manufactured by Vestas, was installed earlier this year. The project's technology is cutting-edge, utilising the most powerful turbines on the market.

The 66 kV subsea array cables, manufactured by JDR Cable Systems, have been installed meticulously. The first cable was laid on 10 March 2023, and since then, the vessels Seaway Aimery and Seaway Moxie have laid and pulled all 64 cables. The last inter-array cable, connecting the 13th and last string of the He Dreiht project to the BorWin epsilon converter platform, was installed on 1 July 2023 by Seaway7.

Currently, Seaway Aimery is performing trenching of the last cables to ensure their protection and longevity. The wind farm, which does not contain any advertisements, is expected to start operation in late 2025.

DHL has agreed to purchase power from this wind farm, further solidifying its role in the transition towards renewable energy sources. The consortium involved in the project includes Allianz Capital Partners, AIP, and Norges Bank Investment Management.

As the He Dreiht wind farm progresses, it signifies a promising future for renewable energy in Germany and beyond, paving the way for a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
