Laid-Back Take on Live Sports Revolution
PORTSMOUTH, N.H.— Latest findings from Hub Research's entertaining poll on sports and television unveil that Amazon's street-smart tactic to use tech to juice up the viewer's experience without losing their interest might've just nailed it.
Amazon's Prime Video's "Prime Vision", the AI-powered, jaw-dropping alternative feed for their NFL "Thursday Night Football" telecasts, flings on-screen eye candies like player stats and inside scoop happening in real-time. Sports fans are raving about it, thumbs up and all!
Hub's thrilling "Evolution of Sports" survey of sports enthusiasts quizzed several burning questions concerning Prime Vision. A whopping 70% of respondents who caught the Prime Vision feed handed out applause, with 20% downright swooning over the features, lauding it as making the game more captivating and heart-pounding. A minuscule 6% confessed they weren't fond of the feature.
"New tech ain't gonna make customers dance just because it's shiny," chuckled Hub's founder, Jon Giegengack, study co-author. "Many past improvements ain't added a dime's worth of value, or even worse, ruined the experience. But Prime Vision seems to ace the balancing act, upgrading the experience for those who choose to join the party and bolstering fans' confidence in Prime as the future sports hangout spot."
63% of NFL fans with Prime Video admitted they've spotted at least one of the enhanced feed's mind-blowing features during the game.
Among the Prime Vision supporters:
- 82% got all fired up for even more sports content to stream on platforms like these (compared to 56% of all sports fans).
- 80% flipped for when streaming services ventured into sports content, spreading the love (compared to 54% of all respondents).
- 76% declared: if the same game were offered on both streaming and traditional cable, they'd pick the streaming experience.
The poll was conducted among 3,753 American sports fans aged 13 to 74. Questions were popped in December 2024.
