Amit Shah Switches to Homegrown Zoho Mail, Urging Citizens to Follow

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has switched to homegrown email service Zoho Mail, urging citizens to update their records for future correspondence using his new address. This move aligns with the Indian government's push for indigenous platforms to reduce dependency on foreign technology.

Shah announced his switch to Zoho Mail, providing his new official email address: [email protected]. His sign-off, 'Thank you for your kind attention to this matter,' bore a resemblance to US President Donald Trump's style on Truth Social.

This shift follows IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw's earlier migration to Zoho's suite of office tools for official work. The Education Ministry and several other ministries are also integrating Zoho Mail and Zoho Workplace into their internal systems, phasing out foreign platforms like Microsoft Outlook and Gmail. This move aims to bolster domestic innovation and achieve technological sovereignty.

Zoho Corporation, founded in 1996 by Sridhar Vembu and his team, has welcomed the government's adoption of its services. Vembu acknowledged Amit Shah's switch to Zoho Mail, dedicating the moment to Zoho's engineers.

Amit Shah's switch to Zoho Mail marks a significant step in the Indian government's push for indigenous technology. As more ministries adopt Zoho's services, the country moves closer to its goal of technological sovereignty, reducing dependency on foreign email services like AOL Mail and Hotmail.
