Memory options for the Ayaneo Pocket DS include LPDDR5X RAM options of 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB. Storage starts at 128GB UFS 3.1, with higher options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB using UFS 4.0. The device also features a large 8,000mAh battery with PD fast charging, multiple ports including USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and a microSD card slot, the latest high-speed WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.3.
The Ayaneo Pocket DS is equipped with TMR joysticks with a 1000Hz polling rate, linear Hall-effect triggers, dual-screen key, navigation key, dual X-axis linear motors, and a 6-axis gyro. Cooling is provided by a large fan and a copper heat sink with cooling fins. The device will run on Android 13 and will feature a power button with an integrated fingerprint scanner.
Other notable features include various smart dual-screen modes supporting multitasking between screens. Ayaneo plans to showcase the Pocket DS at ChinaJoy 2025 in Shanghai early next month (August 2025), with more detailed information including pricing and final release details expected to be announced at that event.
Until more details about the Ayaneo Pocket DS are available, the Anbernic RG Cube is being used for dual-screen classics. However, it's worth noting that the display on the Anbernic RG Cube is tiny when split for DS games, making it a less ideal choice for those seeking a more authentic gaming experience.
