Apple Introduces Subscription-Based Device Protection Plan: AppleCare One

Apple has unveiled a new device protection plan called AppleCare One, aimed at simplifying coverage for users who own multiple Apple products. The subscription-based plan, which starts at £19.99 per month and covers up to three devices, offers a more flexible, affordable, and comprehensive protection option compared to buying separate AppleCare+ plans for each device.

Key features of AppleCare One include coverage for multiple products such as iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and more, all under one plan. Benefits include all the protections of AppleCare+, including unlimited accidental damage repairs (drops, spills, etc.), 24/7 priority support from Apple experts, battery service at no extra cost, and Apple-certified repair service. Theft and loss protection is expanded beyond iPhone to include iPad and Apple Watch.

One of the main advantages of AppleCare One is its flexibility. With a monthly subscription model, users can maintain coverage as long as needed, with the flexibility to add or remove devices at any time. Customers can add devices they already own that are up to four years old if they are in good condition, extending protection beyond the usual 60-day window for AppleCare+ purchase. When trading in a covered device via Apple, the device is automatically removed from the plan and replaced with the new device.

The pricing remains the same regardless of the combination of products, and enrolling an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch on AppleCare One can save customers up to £11 per month compared to buying individual AppleCare+ plans for each device. Sign-up is available directly on iPhone, iPad, or Mac, or in Apple Stores (currently for customers in the U.S.).

For families, AppleCare One means managing everything through one shared subscription, reducing the number of separate plans to monitor. Additional devices can be added for £5.99 per month per additional device.

AppleCare One does not replace AppleCare+ yet, but users will have the option to upgrade or transition in the future. For those already paying to protect multiple Apple devices or subscribing to Apple's services individually, it may be worth considering AppleCare One to see if it fits their needs.

| Feature | Details | |-----------------------------|--------------------------------------| | Base Price | £19.99/month for up to 3 devices | | Additional Device Price | £5.99/month per extra device | | Coverage | Accidents, theft & loss (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch), battery service, priority support | | Eligible Devices Age | Up to 4 years old, if in good condition | | Device Types Covered | iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, etc. | | Enrollment Methods | iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Store (U.S.) |
