Astro Digital to Harness Power from Star Catcher's Space-Based Grid
Astro Digital, a seasoned space systems company, has unveiled plans to tap power from Star Catcher's impending space-based energy grid. This forward-thinking move seeks to amplify the capabilities of satellites like Astro Digital's Corvus XL.
Star Catcher, launched in 2024, has been forging ahead towards creating a space-based power network. After securing $12.25 in seed funding, they conducted an initial ground-based demonstration in March 2023. Later this year, another terrestrial demonstration is planned, with an on-orbit test slated for 2026.
Astro Digital, established in 2015, has agreed to purchase power from Star Catcher's future grid. This alliance aims to provide more power to satellites like Astro Digital's Corvus XL, enabling them to perform tasks previously beyond their capabilities.
The collaboration between Astro Digital and Star Catcher signifies a significant stride towards harnessing space-based power. This development could revolutionize satellite operations, paving the way for enhanced capabilities and new possibilities in space.
