Banks, fintech companies, and policy-makers to debate the future of Open Banking in Canada
The Open Banking Expo Canada 2025 is set to be a significant event in the Canadian financial sector, taking place on June 17. Adam Cox, co-founder and managing director of Open Banking Expo, has emphasized that the event serves as a catalyst for partnerships and progress in Canada's financial future.
The event, dedicated exclusively to Open Banking and Open Finance, will see Symcor as the headline partner. Saba Shariff, senior vice president of Symcor, is slated to deliver the Opening Keynote. Eyal Sivan, general manager of Ozone API, will serve as Main Stage chair.
The Powerlist, which spotlights Canada's most influential leaders in Open Banking and Open Finance, will be unveiled at the event. Additionally, the Open Banking Expo Powerlist 2025 will be revealed, with more than 600 delegates expected to attend the event to witness the unveiling.
The first Powerhouse Debate will address the need to advance Canada's Open Banking framework. Participants include Mauricio Deutsch from GFT, Judy Bei of Citi, Samantha Tom from Borrowell, Natacha Boudrias from National Bank of Canada, Karnan Ariaratnam from Symcor, and Alana Barnes from the Canadian Bankers Association.
More than 80 speakers from various organizations, including Symcor, Ozone API, National Bank of Canada, GFT, JP Morgan, Fintechs Canada, Plaid, Interac, and Scotiabank, will share insights across two content stages.
The event will also bring together major banks, credit unions, fintechs, regulators, and policymakers. The closing session will see the revelation of the 'Standout Five' for 2025, five standout individuals who will be recognised for their contributions to Open Banking and Open Finance in Canada.
