BJEV Reports April 2023 Production & Sales Surge with Arcfox Brand
BJEV, a leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has reported a significant increase in production and sales for April 2023. The company, which is focusing on its Arcfox brand for a turnaround, saw a 45.7% rise in production and a 96.2% increase in sales compared to the same month last year.
BJEV produced 220 units in April 2023, marking a substantial improvement from the same period in 2022. This increase comes despite a 64.8% drop in sales from March 2023. The company's focus on its Arcfox brand appears to be paying off, with two models, the Arcfox α-T SUV and the Arcfox α-S sedan, driving these improvements.
The Arcfox α-S, priced at RMB 397,900 and RMB 429,900 for its two versions, is equipped with Huawei's full-stack smart car solution and intelligent cockpit, following a joint launch with Huawei on May 7, 2023. This collaboration, dubbed 'Huawei Inside', is expected to enhance the vehicle's appeal and functionality. Looking at the broader picture, BJEV's production in the January-April 2023 period saw a 113.7% increase from the same period last year, reaching 2,923 units. However, it's worth noting that BJEV's sales in 2021 were significantly lower than previous years, with 26,127 units sold, indicating a need for the current turnaround efforts.
BJEV's April 2023 production and sales figures show promising signs of a turnaround, with the Arcfox brand and the Arcfox α-S sedan playing significant roles. The company's collaboration with Huawei is also expected to boost the appeal of its vehicles. However, BJEV must maintain this momentum and address the sales decline seen in recent years to fully recover.
