Brembo & SIAD Back Hydrospark's High-Efficiency Hydrogen Cells
Brembo and SIAD have each invested up to €1 million in Hydrospark, a startup developing high-efficiency hydrogen cells. This backing exposes Brembo to new ceramic processing methods and supports SIAD's decarbonisation goals.
Hydrospark aims to produce one million cells annually by its second year, generating electricity and heat from hydrogen with zero emissions. The startup's platform uses ceramic materials to create solid oxide electrolyser cells (SOECs) with enhanced energy density and lower production costs.
Brembo's investment exposes it to these innovative ceramic processing methods. Meanwhile, SIAD's €11 million plant in Slovakia recovers food-grade carbon dioxide from bioethanol, producing 40,000 tonnes of biogenic CO2. This aligns with SIAD's long-term vision of enabling a decarbonised future through hydrogen.
The investments from Brembo and SIAD will help Hydrospark validate its technology in a production facility and grow as a leading player in the hydrogen market. Both companies stand to gain from supporting this innovative, decarbonisation-focused startup.
