BYD Denza unveils the 2025 N7 SUV, boasting an advanced smart driving system upgrade.
In a move to bolster its premium electric crossover offerings, Denza, BYD's luxury brand, has unveiled the refreshed 2025 Denza N7. The updated model comes equipped with advanced technology, improved performance, and a streamlined approach to help consumers navigate the electric vehicle market more easily.
The 2025 Denza N7 comes standard with the God's Eye B smart driving system, also known as DiPilot 300, which includes two LiDARs. This system, previously used in some BYD premium cars, is expected to elevate the Denza N7's driver assistance technology towards more sophisticated semi-autonomous features, although specific details on LiDAR configurations between the two model years are not explicitly described.
The updated Denza N7 offers three variants with starting prices ranging from RMB 259,800 to RMB 289,800. The two lower-priced variants are single-motor rear-drive models, while the highest-priced variant boasts an additional front motor, delivering a peak power of 360 kW and peak torque of 670 Nm. In comparison, the lower-priced variants offer a peak power of 230 kW and peak torque of 360 Nm.
One of the standout features of the 2024 Denza N7 was its unique dual DC charging ports, allowing either a single cable draw of 150 kW or dual cables for a combined 230 kW charging rate. This enabled rapid charging that could provide about 350 km of range in just 15 minutes. However, the charging rates for the 2025 model have not been directly compared, but the setup showcased in the 2024 model demonstrates a highly advanced charging configuration.
The 2025 Denza N7 is built on the 800 V high-voltage platform e-Platform 3.0 Evo. It comes standard with a BYD blade battery pack based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry with a capacity of 91.3 kWh, providing CLTC ranges of 702 km, 702 km, and 630 km for the three variants respectively.
In terms of design, the 2025 Denza N7 retains the sleek and premium look of its predecessor, while the focus has shifted towards enhanced technology and performance. The model measures 4,860 mm in length for all variants, with widths of 1,935 mm and heights of 1,620 mm (for the lower-priced variants) and 1,602 mm (for the highest-priced variant). All variants also feature a wheelbase of 2,940 mm.
The more streamlined version options and unified smart driving system of the 2025 Denza N7 are expected to reduce the potential confusion consumers face when choosing one. The Denza N7 is a competitor to the Tesla Model Y but has performed lukewarmly since its 2023 launch.
Denza aims to sell over 300,000 cars in 2025, according to a report. With the refreshed Denza N7, the brand is positioning itself as a strong contender in the premium electric vehicle market, offering a blend of luxury, performance, and advanced technology.
