Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa Unveils Impressive 1 SOUND Audio System
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ottawa, Canada, has recently opened its doors to the public, and one of its key features is an impressive audio system from 1 SOUND. The system, designed to maintain flexibility and uphold the upscale restaurant feel, provides both robust exterior sound and refined interior sound for live acts.
Exterior Sound with Cannon C6 Marine Speakers
Twenty-five Cannon C6 marine speakers from 1 SOUND are installed outside the venue, color-matched to the building's exterior for aesthetics. These speakers feature custom-painted C-clamps for mounting, outdoor-rated hardware including stainless steel SS316 marine-grade materials, and sealed cable glands to ensure durability and consistent performance in outdoor environments. They deliver a full-range, high-energy audio introduction to guests even before they enter the venue.
Interior Sound at Council Oak Stage
Inside, the Council Oak Stage is equipped with 1 SOUND’s Level L38 loudspeakers. These speakers are discreet and powerful, standing less than eight inches off the wall to maintain a sleek look while providing sufficient sound pressure level (SPL) and punch necessary for live bands, dueling pianos, and other live acts. The L38s are paired with SUB310 subwoofers, which are hidden in the ceiling to preserve the upscale restaurant ambiance without compromising sound quality.
System Design and Integration
The system was designed to meet Hard Rock’s high global standards for sonic clarity and overall sound experience without overwhelming the space visually or aurally. NV5 served as the project consultant, and installation was handled by Clair Global in collaboration with Branch AV, a local AV firm.
Balancing Sound and Aesthetics
The system balances robust, full-range sound coverage outdoors with refined, high-quality live sound indoors, all integrated with attention to aesthetic detail and environmental durability. The Cannon C6 speakers outside the venue are ideal for music playback, offering full range sound quality in a small box for its output. The L38 speakers inside the venue are praised for their ability to blend seamlessly into the space while delivering great sound with room for higher SPL with bands.
The Hard Rock Ottawa venue's audio system is a testament to the trust placed in 1 SOUND's sonic clarity and visual design by the project designers.
