Casio Launches a Watch Withstood by High Temperatures Specifically Designed for Sauna Wear
New Casio Watch Designed for Sauna Use: The Casio CPP-002
Casio has unveiled a new watch, the CPP-002, designed specifically for use in saunas. This lightweight timepiece boasts a cool aesthetic and functional features tailored to the demands of sauna environments.
The Casio CPP-002 sports a black resin case, measuring 35.4mm across, and boasts a water resistance of 50m. The stretchy band, reminiscent of some locker keys, ensures a secure fit even in the heat and humidity of a sauna.
Weighing just 24.5g (0.86oz), the CPP-002 is a light companion for sauna sessions. The watch comes in three dial styles: white with black numerals, black with white numerals, and white with blue numerals, each with a colour-matched expandable plastic strap (orange, black, and blue respectively).
A collaboration with Sauna Ikitai has resulted in a unique variant of the CPP-002. This version features a red hour hand with a black minute hand, setting it apart from the other two dial styles which sport black hour hands with orange minute hands.
The CPP-002's battery is heat-resistant and boasts a 5-year lifespan. It also includes a 12-minute timer function specific to sauna use, which can be set and reset via pushers at the top of the case.
Currently, the Casio CPP-002 is being crowdfunded on Makuake, with Early Bird prices starting at ¥7,840 (~$53). Once it reaches the public, the full price will be ¥9,800 (~$66).
It's worth noting that the Casio CPP-002 is not part of the G-SHOCK umbrella, despite Casio's reputation for ruggedness and durability. There is also no information available about Casio's decision regarding the product CPP-002 and its relation to the G-SHOCK brand, or whether its new technology will make its way to the G-SHOCK lineup.
However, the design and functionality of the Casio CPP-002 are the focus, rather than its physical design being restricted by the visual limitations of a given G-SHOCK family. This new watch offers a unique solution for those seeking a reliable timepiece to accompany their sauna sessions.
