New Citroën C3X SUV Makes a Bold Entrance in India
Citroën has launched its latest offering, the New Citroën C3X, as part of the automaker's "2.0 – Shift Into the New" strategic plan. This compact SUV boasts an SUV-inspired design, 15 new features, and several segment-first technologies, making it a compelling choice in its segment.
The New Citroën C3X comes with a competitive starting price of ₹5.25 lakhs (ex-showroom). This affordability, coupled with its advanced features, makes it the most accessible compact SUV in its segment.
The SUV's exterior design is bold and modern, featuring SUV-inspired styling with bold wheel arches, dual chrome chevrons, split LED DRLs, LED Vision projector headlamps, and LED projector fog lamps. It also sports skid plates and 38cm diamond-cut alloy wheels for a muscular stance.
Inside, the New Citroën C3X offers a plush cabin with a 'metropolitan' leatherette-wrapped instrument panel, a 10.25-inch Citroën Connect touchscreen featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, tropicalized automatic AC, and tall front seats with contrast stitching for enhanced comfort.
The New Citroën C3X is packed with advanced convenience features such as Proxi-Sense passive entry and start (PEPS), segment-first cruise control with speed limiter, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (IRVM), push-button start, and a rear USB Type-C fast charger.
Safety is paramount in the New Citroën C3X, which is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD, Hill Hold Assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts with top tether, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), engine immobilizer, speed-sensitive auto door locks, perimetric alarm system, and the new HALO 360-degree camera system with seven viewing modes for enhanced visibility.
The New Citroën C3X offers two petrol engines — a 1.2L PureTech 82 naturally aspirated and a 1.2L PureTech 110 direct injection turbo — paired with manual or automatic transmissions. The SUV delivers up to 19.3 kmpl mileage and accelerates from 0–100 km/h in under 10 seconds.
The New Citroën C3X's suspension has been tuned for Indian roads under the Citroën Advanced Comfort program, offering a "flying carpet" ride quality despite the 180mm ground clearance and compact 4.98m turning radius for city and highway driving ease.
In addition to these features, the New Citroën C3X also offers an auto-dimming Inside Rearview Mirror (IRVM) for a glare-free night drive, LED interior lighting, and a new HALO 360-degree camera system with seven viewing angles.
Citroën's Proxi-Sense Passive Entry and Push Start system, which allows the user to start the vehicle by pressing the Start button with the key still in their pocket or bag, is a segment-best feature in the New Citroën C3X.
Overall, the New C3X under the "Shift Into the New" plan emphasizes a blend of sophisticated style, advanced technology, segment-leading safety features, and comfortable urban and highway driving tailored for Indian consumers.
