The Center for Predicting Criminal Threats and Public Safety Risks of the Committee for Security and Counter-Terrorism has uncovered a large-scale phishing attack on car enthusiasts in Kazakhstan. The head of the agency, Berik Asylov, revealed this information, which was later shared on social media by the General Prosecutor.

The first instances of this attack were recorded in the USA and Russia. The agency is urging citizens and government agencies to be vigilant about the risks associated with this phishing attack.

In these attacks, criminals send emails with a 'fine notice' and a link to 'pay the fine.' Clicking on the link leads to money theft and device infection. The prosecutor's office is creating a digital forecast to identify and prevent future cyber threats.

It's important to note that the Center for Predicting Criminal Threats and Public Safety Risks uses digital projects with artificial intelligence elements, including analysing 'e-Ötinish' requests and predicting crime. However, there is no specific information available about who will create future digital prediction systems to identify and prevent similar cyber-attacks on car enthusiasts in Kazakhstan.

Unfortunately, youth in Kazakhstan are reportedly increasingly becoming victims of cyber fraud. The agency is working diligently to inform the public about the risks and to help prevent such attacks. They are encouraging everyone to be cautious when opening emails and clicking on links, especially if they appear suspicious.

The agency urges citizens to report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities to help in the fight against cybercrime. Stay safe and be vigilant!
