Comcast Tech Solutions Lands Multi-Year Deal with AMC Networks for Centralized Video Platform Services

Comcast Technology Solutions (CTS) has inked a multi-year deal with AMC Networks. This partnership will see CTS provide centralized video platform services, including managed channel origination and video on demand. The agreement covers 28 channels and spans North America and South America.

CTS' Managed Channel Origination (MCO) service will handle ingesting, managing, and distributing linear TV, on demand, and OTT video content. This includes popular channels like AMC, AMC+, BBC AMERICA, IFC, Shudder, SundanceTV, and We TV.

The deal establishes CTS as the central video platform for these services, not just for AMC Networks, but also for other media companies within their partnership. CTS will serve as the primary video archive, enforcing viewing rights and availability across third-party partners.

AMC Networks anticipates this collaboration will streamline operations, automate complex tasks, and free up resources for content creation and monetization. Meanwhile, CTS' VOD service will deliver on demand and OTT video content to MVPD, vMVPD, and OTT partners globally.

CTS will showcase its solutions at the 2024 IBC Show in Hall 5, Stand C80. Peter Gibson, VP of Product & Marketing at CTS, will also present on 'The New Age of Cloud TV' at the IBC Content Everywhere Stage on Friday, September 13 at 12:15 p.m. This partnership with AMC Networks signals CTS' commitment to driving innovation in the media industry.
