Customised Cash Management Platform Launched by Prime Bank and bKash

In a significant move to boost digital cash management capabilities, bKash Limited and Prime Bank PLC have formed a strategic partnership. The agreement, signed on 4 August 2025, was marked by a ceremony held at Prime Bank's head office.

The partnership aims to streamline bKash's transactional operations by implementing an API-based validation process, automated reconciliation, customised reporting services, and host-to-host connectivity.

With the API-based validation process, bKash's distributors and agents can transfer funds between their bKash channel accounts and designated bank accounts 24/7, including weekends and public holidays. This continuous and efficient fund movement ensures the smooth creation and redemption of bKash e-money.

Automated reconciliation has been integrated to expedite the balancing of transactions, reducing manual intervention and errors, thus improving operational accuracy. Customised reporting services provide tailored financial data and insights to bKash, facilitating better monitoring and decision-making.

Through host-to-host connectivity, bKash utilizes PrimePay, Prime Bank's omni-digital platform, to initiate all types of domestic disbursements seamlessly, enhancing the speed and efficiency of outgoing payments.

The partnership offers a comprehensive digital cash management solution that enhances the efficiency, transparency, and reliability of bKash's transactional operations. This solution helps users manage finances more accurately and efficiently.

It is important to note that the partnership does not disclose any financial details, such as fees or charges associated with the new services. Additionally, the partnership does not mention any changes to bKash's existing user base or account structures, nor does it specify any changes to international disbursements or receipts for bKash.

Faisal Rahman, Additional Managing Director of Prime Bank PLC, and Moinuddin Mohammed Rahgir, Chief Financial Officer of bKash, were present at the signing. Senior officials from both Prime Bank and bKash were also present.

The partnership continues to be in effect, ensuring faster fund transfers, greater accessibility, and reduced manual errors. The fund transfer process between bKash channel accounts and special bank accounts remains available 24/7, including weekends and public holidays.
