Alexandra Njagulj Takes the Helm as Global Head of Sustainability for Real Estate at DWS
Alexandra Njagulj has joined DWS as the Global Head of Sustainability for Real Estate, a role that sees her leading the integration and advancement of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies within the company's global real estate operations.
With over 20 years of practical experience in architectural design, design management, and sustainable urban development, Njagulj brings a wealth of expertise to her new position. Her responsibilities include aligning real estate investment practices with sustainability goals, a move that reflects the growing industry and policy recognition of the importance of ESG factors in real assets.
Njagulj's insights are highly valued in international real estate forums such as MIPIM, underscoring her influence in shaping ESG policies across the sector.
Based in London, Njagulj will report to Todd Henderson, head of the Americas real estate department at DWS. She will be responsible for driving the development of DWS's ESG real estate strategy, with the aim of establishing proven practices worldwide for its real estate investments and portfolios.
The real estate department at DWS is part of the company's Alternatives division, which currently manages €67 billion in assets and employs over 450 people.
Prior to joining DWS, Njagulj was responsible for sustainability, research, development, and innovation at Bouygues UK. She also served as global head of sustainability strategy development and communication at CBRE Global Investors.
With Njagulj at the helm, DWS is poised to further its commitment to sustainable real estate practices, reflecting a broader industry shift towards ESG considerations in real assets.
