Serato, a leading software company for DJs, has unveiled Serato DJ Pro 4.0 and Serato DJ Lite 4.0, featuring significant updates and improvements to the library system and track organization tools. This overhaul is designed to make DJ workflows more efficient and intuitive, especially for those managing large collections.
Key Features of Serato DJ 4.0
Advanced Library Navigation and Filtering
In the Pro version, DJs can now directly search for crate names, filter crates to display only those containing a specific track, and sort crates more intuitively. This enhanced functionality makes it easier to spot duplicates, clean up the organization, and streamline workflows. Serato DJ Lite 4.0, while not including the search function, still offers improved library navigation and filtering.
Crate Information at a Glance
The new library interface displays vital information such as the crate's duration, size, and track count, providing quick key insights at a glance.

Users can mark their most-used crates as favourites and pin them to the top of the crate list for instant access during performances or preparation.
Color-Coded Crates
To improve visual identification and facilitate faster navigation in large libraries, crates can now be assigned colours.

An emoji-based rating system allows DJs to personalize tracks with custom ratings for easier sorting and identification.
Right-Click Menus
New right-click functionality offers quicker access to crate actions and track management without navigating deep menus, streamlining workflows.
Automatic Track Analysis
Tracks can now be analyzed for BPM, key, and length automatically upon import and while hardware is connected, keeping analysis seamless without interrupting workflows.
Mixed Crate Support (Pro only)
Serato DJ Pro 4.0 allows adding both local files and streaming tracks within the same crate, expanding creative possibilities by combining different sources in one organized space.
Enhanced Track Administration
The new tools in Serato DJ 4.0 support a new system of filtering for quicker track location. Users can input any relevant information to dig out tracks from their collection.
