The wait is almost over, but we need those deep pockets to get a taste of Dune: Awakening right now. Currently in its advanced access phase, only for the biggest spenders, this survival epic is already garnering some impressive numbers on Steam.
As of writing, Dune: Awakening has reached a staggering peak of 93,634 simultaneous players on Steam, with over 60,000 still crushing the game as we speak. It dipped significantly in the wee hours of the morning, but let’s not forget that there was some maintenance going on.
For a game demanding a steep price of $70 or $90 to join the early play period, those figures look more than decent. And it's all happening on PC, via Steam.
With the weekend here and the official launch date set for June 10, we can only expect the player counts to grow in the days and weeks ahead.
Even before the game became playable, Dune: Awakening managed to brush shoulders with Elden Ring: Nightreign on the Steam bestsellers chart, a game that's already shifted mountains of copies.
