Dusseldorf: Introduces Lake Park System in May, Lower Bavaria
In a bid to enhance parking convenience and efficiency, the Düsseldorf Traffic Safety Council has collaborated with Peter Park and Unterbacher See to implement a digital parking management system at the popular summer destination. The system, scheduled to start in May 2023, aims to provide a modern parking solution for visitors.
The digital parking system, chosen for its high efficiency and user-friendliness, will be installed on three parking lots surrounding the lake. The system will be barrier-free and will accommodate approximately 1800 parking spaces.
Upon arrival, drivers can make digital reservations and payments for their parking spots via a mobile app or website. This feature, provided by Peter Park, a Munich-based service and system provider, is likely to include real-time information on parking availability, similar to other systems implemented by the company.
The system will also use cameras to scan license plates to determine when parking begins. Upon exit, the license plate will be scanned again to determine the parking duration and match it with the payment. The first hour of parking will be free, and a daily ticket will cost two euros.
The revenue generated from the digital parking system will be used for maintenance projects and investments in the recreational area. Simon Höhner, Managing Director of Düsseldorf's Traffic Safety Council, explains that the primary goal was to find an optimal parking management solution for Unterbacher See.
Peter Park has already installed its system on over 130 sites, including numerous beach baths, lakes, and mountain railway parking lots. The company was selected after a comprehensive analysis by Düsseldorf's Traffic Safety Council, and the collaboration with Unterbacher See marks another successful installation.
For precise details on the Unterbacher See project, it would be best to consult official announcements from the Düsseldorfer local authorities, Peter Park's website, or news releases specific to this installation. The digital parking management system at Unterbacher See is part of a modern parking concept aimed at benefiting the visitors.
To complement the modern parking concept at Unterbacher See, smart-home-devices like gadgets such as smartphones will be utilized to facilitate digital reservations and payments for parking spots. The digital parking system, provided by Peter Park, also leverages technology through cameras to scan license plates, ensuring an efficient parking experience for visitors.
