EA suggests potential launch of Titanfall 2, alongside unveiling of new mobile titles
It looks like Respawn Entertainment is cookin' up some fresh Titanfall goodness, with mobile games on the horizon and potentially more in the pipeline.
The chatter about a Titanfall sequel has been brewing since the original dropped last spring, but things have been pretty quiet on that front lately, until a sneaky clue in EA's latest financial reports. During a discussion about their plans to make bank next year, EA execs dropped a hint about Mass Effect: Andromeda and, you guessed it, more Titanfall helping them maintain their revenue. Since EA's next fiscal year winds up in March 2017, it's looking like Titanfall 2 might drop well before that. It's a bit weird, though, that they didn't mention a new Star Wars game during that discussion.
Meanwhile, Respawn has teamed up with Korean online and mobile publisher Nexon to churn out multiple Titanfall games for iOS and Android. A new studio called Particle City will be leading the charge, and it's headed up by Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella. According to Zampella, Nexon's publishing network and expertise in free-to-play games will let Titanfall reach new audiences around the world. Nexon is even planning to launch a free-to-play version of Titanfall in Asia, so next year is shaping up to be a hot year for Titanfall.
So, if you're pumped about all things Titanfall, keep your eyes peeled for any official announcements regarding Titanfall 3 (even though there's no confirmation yet). And hey, why not fire up your phone and check out some mobile Titanfall games in the meantime?
