The Ather 450S, a new addition to the electric scooter market, is poised to bridge the gap between entry-level and premium versions of the 450 series. Priced between ₹1.23 lakh to ₹1.48 lakh (ex-showroom), this sleek and sporty scooter offers a range of features that make it a strong contender in the premium segment.

The Ather 450S boasts a futuristic design with sharp lines, sleek LED lighting, and a sturdy build quality. It comes equipped with a 5.4 kW motor delivering 22 Nm of torque, ensuring a quick 0-40 km/h sprint in just 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 90 km/h.
Battery and Charging
The scooter is available in two battery options: a standard 2.9 kWh battery and a Pro variant with a 3.7 kWh battery. The home charging setup powers the battery from 0 to 80 percent in 4.5 hours for the 3.7 kWh battery, while it takes approximately 8 hours and 36 minutes for the 2.9 kWh battery.

The Ather 450S is packed with smart features, including a 7-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and various safety features like AutoHold, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal, and theft alerts. The Ather 450S is available in three variants, with prices ranging from ₹1.23 lakh to ₹1.48 lakh (ex-showroom). There is also a Battery as a Service (BaaS) option for the 2.9 kWh variant priced around ₹89,091 ex-showroom.
Competition in the Market
New entrants like the Ather Rizta are expected to be more affordable and positioned below the 450S, indicating competition in the entry-level electric scooter market. Other upcoming electric bikes/scooters in India aim for competitive pricing below ₹1.2 lakh or offer improvements in battery capacity or tech features.

Bookings for the Ather 450S are now open, with deliveries set to begin in August 2025. City-wise pricing for the Ather 450S in major metros is as follows: ₹1,48,047 in Delhi, ₹1,48,258 in Mumbai, and ₹1,47,312 in Chennai.
