Electric Subaru SUV, dubbed "Uncharted," set for release in the United Kingdom markets
Subaru is set to expand its electric vehicle (EV) portfolio in the UK with the introduction of three new models in 2026. The lineup includes the Subaru Uncharted, the Subaru E-Outback, and an additional variant within the Uncharted line.
The Subaru Uncharted, set to debut in Europe, including the UK, offers three versions across the range. The entry-level Front-Wheel Drive Standard model comes with a 57.7 kWh battery, delivering a range of approximately 276 miles (445 km). The Front-Wheel Drive Long-Range model boasts a 77 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 363 miles (585 km). The top-tier All-Wheel Drive Dual-Motor model features a 77 kWh battery, 252 kW (344 ps / 338 bhp), and a range of 292 miles (470 km).
The Uncharted models share the e-Subaru Global Platform and charging technology with the forthcoming Toyota C-HR. They also offer a 22 kW onboard charger, enabling 10-80% charging in around 30 minutes, even in low temperatures. The vehicles boast a ground clearance of 210 mm and advanced off-road modes. The interior features a 14-inch infotainment display and modern tech, positioning the entry-level model as an affordable option for younger or price-conscious buyers.
The Subaru E-Outback, expected to arrive in the UK later in 2026, is based on the same platform as the Solterra. It offers a more powerful electric drivetrain, with a 380 hp output, and strong off-road capability. The E-Outback boasts a range of over 279 miles (449 km) with its 74.7 kWh pack. It also features permanent symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, off-road driving modes, and downhill assist control.
The 2026 Solterra SUV, which has been heavily revised to address battery range criticism, will share the same 344 hp dual-motor powertrain as the Uncharted. It will offer a range of more than 310 miles with its 73.1 kWh battery.
Subaru will announce UK prices for the Uncharted compact SUV closer to the start of sales in early 2026. The E-Outback's recharging time and UK prices are not yet available. The E-Outback was unveiled as the 'Trailseeker' at this year's New York International Auto Show.
The Subaru Uncharted is designed to offer true off-road ability, reminiscent of Subaru's cars from the 1990s. The new models aim to cater to a wide range of customers, from those seeking an affordable electric vehicle to those demanding premium performance and off-road capability.
