Essendi & Wirelane Team Up to Expand EV Charging in Germany & Austria
Essendi, a prominent European hotel operator, has allied with charging infrastructure expert Wirelane. The collaboration, built on the Charging-as-a-Service model, has already seen initial installations in Munich, Cologne, and Regensburg. The partnership aims to equip all parking spaces of Novotel, Mercure, and ibis hotel brands in Germany with Wirelane charging stations.
The charging processes will be conveniently billed via various charging cards, credit and debit cards, and smartphone wallets. Essendi provides the space for the charging points, while Wirelane manages planning, installation, and operation. The charging infrastructure will run exclusively on certified green electricity.
Following Germany, Austria is planned to be the next country to benefit from this partnership. Essendi, formerly known as AccorInvest, is one of Europe's largest hotel owners and operators, making this collaboration a significant step towards wider electric vehicle charging accessibility.
Essendi and Wirelane's partnership is set to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Germany and Austria. By providing charging points at major hotel brands, they cater to the growing number of electric vehicle users, supporting sustainable mobility. The use of certified green electricity further underscores their commitment to environmental responsibility.
