Ex-Principals of 10T Holdings Establish a Venture Capital Company Specializing in Digital Currencies
New Venture Capital Firm Halo Capital Enters Crypto Industry
Halo Capital, a new venture capital firm focused on digital assets, has made its entrance into the crypto industry. The firm, launched by Daniel Howard and Bhavin Vaid, announced its plans to invest across the entire spectrum of the crypto industry, from Bitcoin to decentralised AI.
Howard, son of British hedge fund billionaire Alan Howard, spent most of his career in computer science and artificial intelligence before launching Halo Capital. Vaid, who previously worked with Howard at 10T Holdings, also joined the venture.
The fundraising for the inaugural fund started in March, with the firm officially launching in June. Halo Capital was launched with an inaugural $25 million in funding.
The firm made its public announcement through Bloomberg. Howard and Vaid aim to be value-added investors in the crypto space, with a focus on being a generalist fund across the entire ecosystem. They believe that their ability to take a differentiated and research-driven approach to investing in early-stage crypto projects will be vital.
Halo Capital has already made investments in the crypto industry. It has invested in Bitcoin-based stablecoin issuer Bima Labs, contributing to their $2.5 million seed round in July. The firm has also invested in Solana-based decentralised physical infrastructure network (DePIN), named Andrena, which recently raised $18 million.
While the specific partners and investments of Halo Capital, other than Andrena and Bima Labs, have not been disclosed yet, about 20 partners, including company founders and research experts, have been brought in by Howard and Vaid. However, their names are being kept private for now.
The fund aims to bring the mindset of growth investors to early-stage crypto projects. Vaid believes that this approach will be crucial in the rapidly evolving crypto industry.
For precise and up-to-date details on Halo Capital’s focus and strategy, checking their official website, press releases, or verified profiles of the founders on platforms like LinkedIn or Crunchbase would be the next recommended step.
