Gastromé Enhances Dining Experience with Genelec's Sustainable Smart IP Audio System
Gastromé, a Michelin-recognised restaurant nestled in the tranquil suburb of Risskov, has upgraded its audio system with Genelec's Smart IP solution. This innovative audio system, known for its sustainability and energy efficiency, perfectly complements Gastromé's commitment to seasonal, local, and self-cultivated ingredients.
The Smart IP system, installed by specialist systems integrator Thomas Vestergaard, provides pristine, detailed audio that adds ambience while allowing easy conversation among diners and staff. Fourteen compact Genelec 4420A models were strategically placed throughout the restaurant, lounge, and lobby areas, ensuring an immersive yet unobtrusive sound environment that enhances the dining atmosphere.
Genelec's Smart IP Manager software takes care of configuration and zoning, offering a level of control and monitoring. At Gastromé, they configured seven different zones, each capable of being controlled independently via an iPad. This flexible setup allows the restaurant to tailor the audio experience to suit various dining settings, from intimate dinners to bustling special events.
The Smart IP system's power consumption runs at less than 5 Watts per loudspeaker, making it energy-efficient. Moreover, the system's innovative Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology significantly reduces power consumption compared to traditional audio systems. This eco-friendly feature aligns with Gastromé's philosophy of quality and sustainability.
The installation process for the Smart IP system is straightforward, according to Vestergaard. The system requires only a single network cable to deliver audio, power, and control, simplifying installation and reducing material use. This streamlined approach not only benefits the environment but also saves time and resources during installation.
Genelec's commitment to sustainability is deeply rooted in their DNA. The company uses recycled aluminum for loudspeakers and employs efficient energy management practices. Co-owners William Jørgensen and Søren Jakobsen aim to refine the entire dining experience around the meal at Gastromé. The Smart IP solution from Genelec offers tight integration with various third-party control systems for easy management of functions, further enhancing the dining experience.
