FBN Restructures: Spins Off Global Crop Solutions, Focuses on Digital Marketplace

Farmers Business Network (FBN) has undergone a significant restructuring. The company, which serves over 117,000 farms through its digital marketplace offering more than 7,000 products, has spun off its global crop solutions business into a separate entity, Global Crop Solutions (GCS).

FBN will now focus solely on its digital marketplace, providing financial services, digital tools, and access to inputs and supplies. This strategic move allows FBN to concentrate on its core business and better serve its customers.

GCS, now an independent supplier of crop protection products, will initially sell its products exclusively to FBN customers through the FBN store. This partnership ensures FBN customers have access to a wide range of high-quality crop protection products.

The split follows a similar move by Kraft Heinz, which announced a separation last month to accelerate growth and unlock shareholder value. FBN raised $50 million earlier this year to build out new AI-centric tools for customers, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and enhancing the customer experience.

The separation of FBN's global crop solutions business into GCS allows both entities to focus on their respective strengths and better serve farmers. FBN customers can continue to expect a wide range of products and services through the digital marketplace, while GCS can concentrate on providing high-quality crop protection products.
