Future of Privacy Forum Launches 16th Privacy Papers Award for 2026

The Future of Privacy Forum (FPF) has launched the 16th Privacy Papers for Policymakers Award. This annual event, set for 2026, seeks leading privacy research and analytical scholarship relevant to policymakers in the U.S. and internationally. The call for submissions is open until October 30, 2025.

Submissions should focus on current and emerging privacy issues, with an emphasis on data protection and AI governance. They should propose achievable short-term solutions and be completed within the last 12 months. Accepted formats include academic papers, books, empirical research, or other longer-form analyses.

FPF staff will evaluate submissions based on originality, applicability to policymaking, and overall writing quality. Winning papers will be published on the FPF website and authors will present their work during a virtual event in 2026. Submissions should include a one-page Executive Summary or Abstract, and the author's complete contact and affiliation information.

The Privacy Papers for Policymakers Award recognizes leading privacy research relevant to policymakers. Winning papers will be highlighted during the main event and in a press release to the media. The deadline for submissions is October 30, 2025.
