G-STIC 2021 Event: Preserving Climate Resilience for Post-COVID Recovery - CTCN Webinar Discussion
In the wake of the Covid-19 crisis, the need for resilient, inclusive, equitable, and sustainable societies and economies has never been more apparent. Recognising this, the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) is launching a series of webinars titled "Ensuring a Climate Resilient Recovery after COVID-19."
The first webinar in this series will take place at G-STIC 2021 on October 26, 2021, from 11:30 - 13:00 GST (Dubai). The virtual event will be opened by CTCN-Director, Ms. Rose Mwebaza, who will also serve as the chair of the plenary session 'Financial mechanisms for the acceleration of NDC implementation' at G-STIC 2021.
Mr. Sergio La Motta, CTCN Advisory Board Member, will introduce the CTCN report, setting the stage for presentations covering topics like circular economy, decarbonization roadmaps, nature-based solutions, and new technologies like carbon capture and green hydrogen.
The panel discussion, moderated by Mr. Matthew Kennedy, will include experts discussing global adoption and market penetration of climate technologies, gender and social inclusion in climate technology implementation, and the role of youth in accelerating climate technology implementation.
Case studies will be presented by Ms. Leida Mercado, Mr. Subash Dhar, and Mr. Khampasong Khamvene, offering insights from various regions (LAC, Africa, and Asia) on climate technology aspects.
The objectives of these webinars include providing a pathway for countries to benefit from knowledge sharing, informing investment decisions, building capacity, exchanging best practices, and strengthening CTCN stakeholders.
