Global Robotics Industry Sets New Record in 2024

The global robotics industry has seen remarkable growth in 2024, with a record-breaking number of installations worldwide. China maintained its position as the leading market, while the United States and Asia also witnessed significant increases.

In the United States, the number of robot installations remained above 50,000 units for the fourth consecutive year, totaling 50,100 units in 2024. This marks the fourth year in a row that the 500,000 unit mark has been exceeded globally.

In Asia, China led the way with a 54% global share, installing over 290,000 new robots. Other Asian markets also grew significantly. India saw a record number of 9,100 newly installed industrial robots, while Japan was the second-largest market with 44,500 new installations. South Korea followed with 30,600 units.

In Europe, the number of installed industrial robots decreased by 8% to 85,000 units, but still reached the second-best result ever recorded. The top five robot markets in 2024 included Germany, rounding out the list for Europe.

Globally, the operational stock of industrial robots reached 4,664,000 units in 2024, an increase of 9% compared to the previous year. The robotics industry is expected to continue its long-term growth trend, with worldwide installations projected to increase by 6% to 575,000 units in 2025.

In 2024, a total of 542,000 new industrial robots were installed worldwide, more than double the number from ten years ago. This growth is driven by increased demand for automation and technological advancements in the robotics industry. The coming years are expected to bring further growth and innovation in this sector.
