Google's NotebookLM app has recently introduced a new feature called "featured notebooks". These curated, publicly shareable notebooks serve as inspiration and demonstrate the potential of NotebookLM, helping users discover new ways to utilise the tool effectively.

The purpose of these featured notebooks is to allow users to explore high-quality, collaborative notebooks created by others, making it easier to learn from shared knowledge and see practical applications. Google has collaborated with reputable organisations such as CNN and Not Boring to create and share these featured notebooks.

These notebooks are accessible within the NotebookLM interface, allowing users to browse, read, and interact with the curated notebooks. Each featured notebook comes with everything you'd need, making it easy for users to delve into the content. Other featured notebooks come from experts like Eric Topol and Yellowstone National Park, offering a diverse range of topics.

One of the standout features of these notebooks is the ability for users to pose questions to the AI to gain a better understanding or read the lengthy texts themselves. Users can also choose which sources to include in their notebook, ensuring a personalised learning experience.

NotebookLM has also introduced a new feature called "Discover Sources". This feature eliminates the need for manual source searching, as it automatically finds important sources for users' topics.

In addition to these features, NotebookLM offers a variety of resources, such as longevity advice from Eric Topol, Q1 earnings reports from the top 50 public companies worldwide, science-backed parenting advice from psychology professor Jacqueline Nesi, and an overview of long-term trends in human wellbeing, published by Our World In Data (an University of Oxford-affiliated project).

Moreover, NotebookLM now provides a science fan's guide to visiting Yellowstone National Park, allowing users to plan their trips with confidence. Users can also generate an Audio Overview for the featured notebooks, making learning even more accessible.

The "featured notebooks" can be accessed by clicking a button beside "My notebooks" on the main page, making it easy for users to explore and learn from these valuable resources. This new feature is set to enhance NotebookLM by providing curated examples from trusted partners, fostering community learning and collaboration.

Users can access a diverse range of curated, collaborative notebooks within the NotebookLM interface, allowing them to delve into high-quality content created by reputable organisations like CNN and Yellowstone National Park. These featured notebooks demonstrate the potential of technology like NotebookLM, offering practical applications and new ways to effectively use the tool.
