Google unveils its entire lineup of Pixel 10 smartphones
The tech giant, Google, is gearing up for the launch of its latest smartphone series, the Pixel 10, scheduled for August 20, 2025. In a surprising turn of events, a premature advertisement for the Pixel 10 series has been spotted on the Google Play store, hinting that the announcement may have jumped the gun.
The Pixel 10 series is set to include four models: the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
The standard Pixel 10 features a 6.3-inch FHD+ flat OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a design similar to the Pixel 9 series, and a telephoto lens in its camera array, marking the first Pixel phone to do so. It will be powered by the new Google Tensor G5 chip and will support faster wired charging and Qi2 15W wireless charging, complete with Pixel Snap magnets. The Pixel 10 will come in brighter, more playful colours, including blue.
The Pixel 10 Pro is expected to have a display of similar size to the Pixel 10, boasting high brightness up to 3000 nits and an improved Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Dimmer to reduce eye strain. It will feature a triple-lens system, including a 48MP zoom camera, a wide-angle, and a main sensor, as well as a new macro mode for the telephoto lens. The device will be equipped with the Tensor G5 chip and a vapor cooling chamber for better thermal management. It will also support faster wired and wireless charging. The Pixel 10 Pro will be available in premium materials, with consistent button placement.
The Pixel 10 Pro XL will have a larger display, around 6.8 inches, and a battery estimated to be the largest in any Pixel phone to date, with a capacity larger than the Pixel 9 Pro. The camera and design specifications are similar to the Pixel 10 Pro, with slightly adjusted dimensions.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be Google's first foldable phone with IP68 water and dust resistance certification, making it a significant stride in durability for the foldable market. It will feature a foldable main screen around 8 inches, possibly larger than the cover screen of previous foldable Pixels, resembling the fold of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. The device will sport a triple advanced camera system—48MP main, 10.8MP ultrawide, and 10.5MP 5x telephoto. It will come with 16GB RAM and storage variants of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to have enhanced AI capabilities and improvements over the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It will also support faster wired and Qi2 wireless charging with Pixel Snap magnets.
In summary, the Pixel 10 series advances with the new Tensor G5 chipset, faster charging, improved camera systems (especially telephoto and macro modes), larger batteries in Pro XL and Pro models, and the world's first IP68-certified foldable in the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The designs are evolutionary rather than revolutionary, maintaining Google's distinctive aesthetic and camera bar while enhancing user comfort and performance.
