Gordon Murray Unveils T.50s Niki Lauda: A Track-Only Supercar Tribute
Gordon Murray has unveiled the T.50s Niki Lauda, a track-only version of the T.50 supercar, on the late racing legend's 72nd birthday. The car features advanced auto aerodynamics, a powerful engine, and a stripped-down interior.
The T.50s Niki Lauda boasts a new Delta-wing at the rear, a race-specific splitter at the front, adjustable diffusers, and a ground-effect fan. It retains the naturally-aspirated V12 engine and central driving position of the T.50, now producing up to 725bhp. The interior has been stripped of non-essential features like air conditioning and infotainment, with a rectangular 'F1' steering wheel.
Developed by Gordon Murray, who introduced the T.50 in 2020, the T.50s Niki Lauda has been revised with new camshafts, cylinder heads, a higher compression ratio, and a free-flow exhaust. Each of the 25 models will be customized to the individual owner's specifications, with production set to begin in 2023 after the road car run is completed.
The T.50s Niki Lauda, a tribute to the three-time Formula 1 world champion, will cost £3.7 million in the UK. Its reduced weight and advanced auto parts promise exceptional performance on the track. With only 25 models to be produced, each one will be a unique celebration of Niki Lauda's legacy.
