Huawei affiliate Stelato to commence pre-orders for S9T station wagon on August 18
The electric vehicle landscape in China is set to expand further with the upcoming pre-sales of the Stelato S9T station wagon. This premium large-size electric vehicle, a variant of the Stelato S9, is scheduled to hit showrooms by the end of August 2025, with an official market launch expected in September.
Stelato, a joint venture between Huawei and BAIC Group, has been making waves in the automotive industry since the launch of the Stelato S9 on August 6, 2024. The brand, one of five automotive brands under HIMA, is now ready to unveil the Stelato S9T, marking the entry of Huawei-backed brand Luxeed into 'Phase 2.0'.
The Stelato S9T follows the "Cosmic Aesthetics" design language, measuring approximately 5.2 meters in length. Notable exterior elements include "Starlight" headlight clusters and "Nebula" taillight strips, designed to catch the eye. The optimised trunk space promises practicality to match its stylish design.
Stepping inside the Stelato S9T, you'll find a premium and spacious cabin. Four interior colour options - Chicha Orange, Truffle Brown, White Sand Apricot, and Amber Brown - cater to various tastes. The horizontal dashboard houses a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, while dual 12.3-inch displays provide driver information and passenger entertainment.
A large head-up display, a co-pilot zero-gravity seat, and a compressor-based hot/cold box offer comfort and convenience. The box, adjustable from -6 to 50°C, ensures your refreshments stay at the perfect temperature. Multiple smart electric doors, B-pillar air vents, four electric sunshades, and 16.8 million color flowing ambient lighting add a touch of luxury.
The Stelato S9T will be available in extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and pure electric vehicle (EV) configurations. The EREV model is expected to offer a range of about 1,300 km, while the EV variant offers around 800 km.
Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including four LiDAR sensors and 4D millimeter-wave radars ensure enhanced perception capabilities.
Pricing for the Stelato S9T starts around RMB 330,000 ($45,900) to RMB 380,000 ($52,820), depending on the configuration and trim. Higher-end Ultra editions could reach up to RMB 470,000 (~$65,400).
The market for station wagon vehicles, originally a niche segment, is seeing an increasing number of available models. The Stelato S9T, with its combination of advanced technology, upscale comfort, and innovative design, targets a growing market segment in China and potentially beyond.
New images of the Stelato S9T's interior space were shared on Weibo today, giving a sneak peek into the luxurious cabin. Pre-sales for the Stelato S9T will begin on August 18, 2025.
