ICE Arrests Over 1,000 Criminal Foreign Nationals During Shutdown

ICE Arrests Over 1,000 Criminal Foreign Nationals During Shutdown

ICE agents, working without pay during the government shutdown, have arrested over 1,000 criminal foreign nationals in Operation Midway Blitz. The operation, launched on Sept. 8, targeted violent offenders and resulted in numerous arrests by Oct. 3. Among those detained are members of dangerous gangs and individuals with histories of serious crimes.

The operation, conducted across the nation, saw the arrest of several Mexican nationals. Ricardo Gervasio-Gervasio, Pedro Navajas-Contreras, Uriel Alvarez-Meneses, Luis Arroyo-Telles, and Arturo Guzman were apprehended with various convictions. In Chicago, ICE agents arrested Wilmer Alexander Gonzalez Garaban, a member of the Tren de Aragua gang with a history of theft and resisting an officer. Nationwide, arrests included Angel Antonio Vasquez, a confirmed MS-13 gang member convicted of burglary and rape, and Nan-Su Hoang convicted of burglary.

Arrests also involved individuals with convictions for a wide range of crimes, including burglary, shoplifting, rape, incest with a minor, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, forgery, firearms possession, domestic violence, criminal mischief, dealing child pornography, weapons charges, driving under the influence, smuggling of persons, and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Other arrested individuals include Abrahan Alfonzo Jimenez Rodriguez and Jorge Mario Ramirez-Lopez, with various charges and convictions.

Those arrested remain in ICE custody pending removal. The operation, which targeted violent offenders, drug dealers, thieves, and other criminals, has resulted in over 1,000 arrests. ICE officers continue to work diligently to ensure the safety of communities, even during the government shutdown.
