Indian Startups gather $104 million in funding this week, extending from the realm of Safe Security.

Indian startups witnessed a slight drop in funding during the week of July 28-August 2, 2025. According to various reports, the total funding raised was approximately $129 million, a decrease of around 23% compared to the previous week, which saw $134.4 million in funding across 22 deals [1][3].

The artificial intelligence (AI) sector emerged as the frontrunner this week, with three significant funding deals. Metaforms, Drizz, and Vahan.ai collectively raised $11.7 million [2]. One of the notable deals was AI startup Vaha.ai's acquisition of upskilling platform GoodWorker (L.earn) to create a full-stack career ecosystem for India's blue-collar workers.

Spacetech startup Digantra is in advanced talks to raise $50 million, with Reliance Industries, Peak XV, and others involved in the discussions [1]. Meanwhile, D2C dairy brand Desi Farms made a strategic move by buying larger and older company Suruchi Dairy for INR 130 crore [4].

In the venture capital (VC) scene, Neo Group's VC arm Neo Asset Management marked the first close of its INR 2,000 crore secondaries PE fund at INR 750 crore. Tenacity Ventures joined the cap table of customer engagement platform Exotel via a secondary transaction [1].

AI companion platform Mello, currently in stealth mode, is set to raise $2.5 million from Peak XV Partners and DeVC [1]. Listed SaaS company Zaggle is planning to diversify its offerings by acquiring fintech startup Rio.Money for INR 22 crore [5].

D2C mattress startup The Sleep Company is eyeing the raise of INR 105 crore in its Series D funding round, led by Saffron Investments [6]. Enterprise tech startups Safe Security and Sharpsell.ai raised $73.4 million this week, a marginal increase from the $72.1 million raised by five startups last week [7].

In other developments, angel investment firm Inflection Point Ventures launched a new $110 million category I angel fund registered under GIFT City's IFSCA framework [1]. Fintech major Jio Financial Services is planning to raise a whopping $1.8 billion via private placement of convertible warrants to members of its promoter group [8]. VC firm W Health Ventures also launched its second fund, Fund II, with a target corpus of $70 million [9].

Despite the slight dip in funding, the Indian startup ecosystem continues to show resilience and growth, with various sectors attracting investments and strategic acquisitions.
