Sea Otter Classic Showcases Innovative Cycling Products
The Sea Otter Classic, North America's largest cycling festival, returned to Monterey, California in 2025, attracting over 74,000 attendees and more than 1,000 exhibiting brands. This year's event, held on and around the Laguna Seca Raceway, showcased a plethora of cutting-edge products, from high-quality bikes to innovative tools and accessories.
One of the notable products exhibited was the Allen Racks Smart Suction Bike Rack, a vacuum-based system for vehicle-mounted bike transport. This versatile rack can be mounted to the roof or rear of a wide range of cars and RVs and holds bikes up to 35lbs. It also boasts an adjustable tray for different wheelbase lengths, works with both quick-release and thru-axle forks, and includes a built-in locking cable for theft protection. The Allen Racks Smart Suction Bike Rack is currently on pre-sale.
Another innovative product was the TRACKR RADAR, a device that provides vehicle warning, brake light, and compatibility with most Bluetooth or ANT+ bike computers. It also comes with a battery extender that can provide up to 20 hours of use.
Wahoo, a well-known brand in the cycling industry, released the latest generation of its ELEMNT Bolt and Roam computers. The ELEMNT BOLT 3 is the smallest and lightest of Wahoo's cycling computer line-up, featuring a larger, high-contrast 2.3" display, increased compatibility with more third-party apps and services, and a battery life of up to 20 hours. The ELEMNT ROAM 3, on the other hand, is a feature-rich, mid-size computer made for adventurers. It boasts glove-friendly multi-touch capabilities, a high-resolution and large anti-glare screen, enhanced navigation and route management, and a 25-hour battery life.
A new e-bike brand named Morelle was also showcased at the Sea Otter Classic. Their debut model is a flat-bar aluminum commuter bike with SRAM electronic shifting and a compact, high-torque mid-drive motor. The full build of Morelle's e-bike is expected to weigh around 25 pounds and retail for near $3,000. Notably, Morelle's e-bike features a high-density, silicon-based battery that charges faster and lighter than traditional lithium-ion packs.
In addition to these products, the Sea Otter Classic featured a variety of high-quality bikes from Neuhaus, van Raam adaptive bikes, Etnnic bikes, Trackchairs, and tools from Wera Tools North America. McIlwain Mobility Solutions brought a trailer full of van Raam adaptive bikes, Etnnic bikes, and Trackchairs, emphasizing off-road capabilities. Neuhaus exhibited one of their bikes at booth B49, highlighting their steel bike parts.
The Sea Otter Classic also hosts 12 amateur and elite races across road and off-road disciplines. This year, these races attracted a diverse range of participants, from seasoned professionals to amateur enthusiasts.
The Sea Otter Classic continues to be a premier event for the cycling community, showcasing the latest innovations and providing a platform for enthusiasts to connect and compete. With its wide range of products and activities, the Sea Otter Classic is a must-attend event for any cycling enthusiast.
