In a thrilling display at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show, Chinese automotive manufacturer Geely presented two new SUV models – the GLEagle GX5 and GP5. These vehicles, categorised as 'Young's SUV' (YUV), were introduced as 'Small Sized Classic Style YUV's'.
The GX5 and GP5, if production plans materialise, could mark a significant departure for Geely. The listed engines – a 95kw 1.3 Turbo and a 78.5kw 1.5 – are unusual for concept vehicles, suggesting a possible move towards mass production.
The size of these SUVs is 3813x1762x1670, with a wheelbase of 2370. The 1.3T engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Meanwhile, Geely's Lynk & Co has opened pre-sales for refreshed 07 EM-P and 08 EM-P PHEV models. These vehicles are equipped with LiDAR technology, a testament to Geely's commitment to innovation.
The Geely Galaxy M9 PHEV, another offering from the brand, has a starting price of 25,800 USD and boasts a maximum range of 1,505 km.
Unfortunately, no specific information about the new Geely vehicles (Gleagle GX5 and GP5) or the Zeekr 9X plug-in hybrid luxury SUV, scheduled to launch on Sep 29, was provided in the press release.
The red vehicle unveiled at the show was the GP5. The manufacturers of the SUVs, GLEagle GX5 and GP5, are Geely, the brand that made its debut at the Beijing Auto Show in 2010.
While details about the engines, size, and production status of the Zeekr 9X and the new Geely vehicles remain scarce, the 2010 Beijing Auto Show marked a significant step forward for Geely, showcasing their continued commitment to the automotive industry.
