Intel and Nvidia Announce Groundbreaking Partnership

In a move set to revolutionize the computing industry, Intel and Nvidia have announced a strategic partnership that promises to usher in a new era of innovation.

The partnership, financially supported by Nvidia's investment of $5 billion in Intel shares, will see Intel develop and manufacture custom x86 processors for Nvidia's AI infrastructure platforms. This collaboration will provide Nvidia with access to Intel's established x86 technology and manufacturing capacities, while offering Intel a much-needed financial boost and the opportunity to gain a foothold in the rapidly growing AI market.

Both companies, headquartered in Santa Clara, California, bring unique strengths to the table. Intel, one of the world's largest chip manufacturers, produces processors for a wide range of devices, including PCs, servers, mobile devices, and is also active in the Internet of Things (IoT) and autonomous driving. Nvidia, a leading manufacturer of graphics processors, is also active in AI chips and autonomous driving.

The partnership will focus on the development and production of customized CPUs and System-on-Chips (SoCs). The SoCs will combine Nvidia's expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and accelerated computing with Intel's established x86 architecture and manufacturing technology. The companies plan to develop new SoCs for the PC market, integrating Intel's processors and Nvidia's RTX GPU technology on a single chip.

The high-speed NVLink interface will facilitate this strategic partnership, ensuring seamless communication between the CPU and GPU components.

The announcement of this partnership sent Intel's stock price soaring by up to 30 percent on September 18, 2025, reflecting the market's enthusiasm for this groundbreaking collaboration.

With this partnership, both Intel and Nvidia are poised to lead the charge in the next generation of computing, promising to deliver faster, more efficient, and more powerful technology to consumers and businesses alike.
