Investment by Ritesh Agarwal of OYO in Culture Circle Valued Above INR 100 Crores
In a significant move, Ritesh Agarwal, the founder and CEO of OYO, has invested in Culture Circle, a popular luxury and hype fashion app catering to the youth market. The investment, made at a valuation exceeding ₹100 crore, comes after an earlier deal on Shark Tank India, where Agarwal and Kunal Bahl provided ₹3 crore for 3% equity.
Culture Circle, a fashion commerce platform, plans to utilise the investment to scale its AI engine, SourceX. This AI-powered system is crucial for enhancing the platform's capabilities in verifying and authenticating luxury products. The startup also aims to expand into new product categories and global markets, particularly focusing on Gen Z consumers.
With Ritesh Agarwal's investment, Culture Circle is poised to accelerate its global expansion plans, positioning India as a key player in the global streetwear and luxury market. Currently, the platform boasts over 1 million monthly users and more than 4,000 KYC-verified sellers, contributing to its significant business growth.
The company operates flagship stores in Delhi and Hyderabad and plans to expand physically to other cities like Gurugram and Mumbai. Ackshay Jain, who has worked at Google and currently convenes the JIIF Gurugram chapter, stated that the investment round will help scale SourceX, their AI-powered engine, and enter new categories and markets.
Ritesh Agarwal described Culture Circle as one of the most exciting youth-first platforms to emerge from India, and the investment as a partnership built on shared values. Devansh Jain Nawal, an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and former Goldman Sachs employee, co-founded Culture Circle with Ackshay Jain.
Culture Circle offers authenticated luxury and streetwear fashion, using AI-powered tools for product verification, real-time price comparison, and connecting with global sellers.
