Investment management firm Northern Trust appoints Anwiti Bahuguna as the new Global Co-Chief Investment Officer.
In a significant move, Northern Tool Asset Management has announced the appointment of Anwiti Bahuguna as its global co-chief investing officer. Bahuguna, who brings over two decades of experience in the investment industry, will lead an investment team of more than 300 professionals globally.
Based in Chicago, Bahuguna reports to Michael Hunstad, Ph.D., who was recently named president of Northern Tool Asset Management. In her new role, Bahuguna will oversee a broad range of investment capabilities at the firm, which manages $1.3 trillion in assets as of June 30, 2025.
Bahuguna's responsibilities will include ensuring investment performance, managing processes, and maintaining the philosophy that guides the firm's investment strategies. Prior to her appointment, she served as the Chief Investment Officer for Liquid Strategies at Northern Tool Asset Management.
Bahuguna holds a doctorate in economics from Northeastern University and a bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University. She is a member of the finance committee at Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust, and she also serves on the Asset Management Leadership Group, Investment Policy Committee, and Risk Committee at Northern Tool Asset Management.
