On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, an online information session will be held for farmers interested in converting to organic farming. This event, organised by the organic model regions in Lower Bavaria, is supported by several organisations, including the Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forestry (Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Ernährung, Landwirtschaft und Forsten), the offices for nutrition, agriculture and forestry in Lower Bavaria, the vocational school for agricultural and organic farming in Landshut, the state association for organic farming in Bavaria, the Bavarian Farmers' Association, the Bavarian State Institute of Agriculture, and the umbrella organisation of organic farming associations.
The event will commence at 7 PM and conclude at 9:30 PM. Speaker Holger Reising from LfL will provide an overview of the organic market for various products. Various practitioner operations from the region will report on their experiences with organic farming.
The Farmer's Association and the Office for Nutrition, Agriculture and Forestry will discuss their funding offers and activities, aiming to support farmers during the conversion process. The organic model regions in Lower Bavaria aim to surpass the current average of 6.7% organic farming operations, with Bavaria as a whole having approximately 11% of agricultural operations transitioned to organic farming.
Veronika Stanglmayr, the Landshut organic model region manager, will be available for questions. Her contact information is Veronika.Stanglmayr@landkreis-our website and Tel. 0871 408-2127.
Prior registration is required for the online event. The registration link can be found at www.landkreis-our website. This event is free for farmers interested in organic farming conversion.
Join us on May 27 for a valuable opportunity to learn about the process of conversion to organic farming and the support options available.
