Kazakhstan & Binance Strengthen Crypto Ties at Digital Bridge 2025

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan met with Binance founder Changpeng Zhao at the Digital Bridge 2025 forum, marking a significant step in their ongoing collaboration in the crypto news industry. The two leaders discussed the progress made since signing a Memorandum in 2022 to establish a regional crypto hub in Kazakhstan.

In 2022, President Tokayev visited Binance headquarters, leading to the signing of a Memorandum. This agreement aimed to create a regional crypto news industry hub in Kazakhstan, based on Binance Lab. Since then, numerous blockchain and cryptotechnology projects have been implemented in the country.

During the meeting, President Tokayev praised Changpeng Zhao's contributions to the global cryptocurrency and fintech ecosystem. The current cooperation involves Kazakhstan's Alem Crypto Fund investing in Binance's BNB token. This move is part of testing digital currency integration into the regular business sector while adhering to financial regulations.

President Tokayev advocates for creating a full digital asset ecosystem and a strategic crypto reserve. He has instructed lawmakers to develop comprehensive legislation by 2026 to integrate crypto into the national economy. This move supports the development of a regional crypto news industry hub in Kazakhstan, further solidifying the country's position in the global crypto news landscape.
