KLM Unveils First Dutch Airbus A350 Flight Simulator
KLM has unveiled the first Airbus A350 flight simulator in the Netherlands. The simulator, built by CAE in Montreal, faced logistical challenges due to its size during installation at KLM's Schiphol-East facility. It is now ready for use, with the first A350 pilots set to begin training soon.
The simulator's journey began at CAE's Montreal facility, where it underwent rigorous testing before being shipped to Europe. Despite its size, it was successfully installed at KLM's Schiphol-East facility, marking a significant milestone for the airline.
KLM's order of 50 Airbus A350 aircraft, with options for an additional 40, was placed by Air France-KLM itself, although the exact date of the order is not specified. Air France-KLM CEO Benjamin Smith has praised the A350 for its popularity among both passengers and crew.
With the simulator now operational, KLM is poised to begin training its A350 pilots. This marks a significant step in the airline's expansion and commitment to the Airbus A350 fleet.
