LG Unveils Cutting-Edge 540 Hz Gaming Monitor and Ultrawide 5K2K Display
LG has made a significant stride in the world of gaming monitors with the unveiling of its new 27-inch 540 Hz OLED gaming monitor, featuring the 4th Gen Tandem OLED with Primary RGB Tandem technology 15. This high-performance panel also boasts a native 540 Hz refresh rate and can be boosted to 720 Hz at 720p using Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR) technology.
The new monitor showcases impressive specifications, including a peak brightness of 1,500 nits and 99.5% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, delivering vivid colours and deep contrast enhanced by stacking red, green, and blue-emitting layers independently 15.
At the K-Display 2025 trade show in Seoul, LG also showcased a new ultrawide monitor with a 5K2K resolution, marking the debut of Tandem OLED on a large format display 2. This monitor, with a 125 PPI pixel density, is claimed to be the sharpest OLED monitor to date, featuring a native refresh rate of 165 Hz and a peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits 2.
While exact pricing and release dates for both monitors have not been disclosed yet, they are expected to be available possibly by Q4 2025 5. The 27-inch 540 Hz monitor currently has no confirmed retail price, while similar LG OLED gaming monitors with lower refresh rates and 4K resolution range from around $750 to $1,800 15. The ultrawide monitor is available for purchase on Amazon for $1,799 USD 2.
